Okay, I've been out of the loop for a while but I'm back. Lots of stuff to catch up on so I'm starting really small and wading my way through all these updates I've been meaning to post over the past 3 weeks. The official website for Kuchisake Onna 2, the prequel to 2007's Kuchisake Onna, aka "Carved" now has a trailer on the front page of its website. In the movie 16-year-old Rin Asuka plays a high school girl named Mayumi whose older sister's ex-boyfriend disfigures her face with sulfuric acid, causing her to eventually become the murderous slit-mouthed woman. It was filmed on a lower budget than its predecessor but will get a legitimate theatrical release on March 22nd in Japan.

The site for Chameleon: Long Goodbye, which we first wrote about here, just rolled out a new flash layout and added a new trailer. There are no new movie clips in the second trailer but there is some production footage, a short clip of Tatsuya Fujiwara talking about the project, and at the very end we get to see him doing a pretty cool stunt sliding down a metal staircase on his butt. I, for one, am officially sold. The menu is in English so check out the official website and click on "Trailer" for the video.

TV Tokyo has a 51-episode drama entitled Keitai Sousakan 7 (Cellphone Investigation 7) in the works, with Takashi Miike serving as supervising director. Some of the other directors involved in the project are Mamoru Oshii (Ghost in the Shell), Shusuke Kaneko (Death Note), and Manabu Aso (One Missed Call: Final). The main protagonist of the show, Kieta (Masataka Kubota), is a high school freshman who is enlisted to join an organization called "Anchor" in order to bring down an internet crime syndicate. He's given a little robot named "Phonebraver 7" to assist him which is capable of transforming into a cellphone. Apparently it's also capable of becoming a marketing gimmick to sell creepy little SoftBank cellphones with arms and legs at some point in the future, as one would expect.
