Two new TV spots have been released for Junichi Mori’s live-action adaptation of Kotaro Isaka’s 2003 novel, Gravity’s Clowns (Juryoku Pierrot). Distributor Asmik Ace Entertainment will be releasing the film in Japanese theaters starting on May 23rd.
The story revolves around a seemingly loving family consisting of a kind father (Fumiyo Kohinata), a beautiful mother (Kyoka Suzuki), their first son Izumi (Ryo Kase), and his younger brother Haru (Masaki Okada). They seem perfectly normal, but the outward appearance of happiness belies the tragic circumstances surrounding Haru’s birth; he is the product of his mother’s brutal rape by a criminal. However, he was nonetheless raised as a normal member of the family—receiving the same love and attention shown to Izumi.
When Izumi and Haru grow up, a serial arsonist begins setting fires and leaving behind puzzling graffiti on walls at the crime scenes. Izumi starts to unravel the mystery of the graffiti, with each location drawing him ever closer to the unexpected truth.
