I was going to hold off on this one until a trailer surfaced online, but it's now a week away from release and nothing has turned up. Luckily, it's been scientifically proven that gravure idol photos are perfectly legitimate substitutes for all other forms of eye candy, and the stars of Ace Deuce Entertainment's upcoming J-horror 2-parter, Yomutoshinu: Death Comic certainly qualify. The two films are directed by Korehisa Fukuda (Manga Kissa Toshi Densetsu Noroi no Manna-san TV series) and Yuji Tajiri (Irokoishi), although it's not exactly clear if they co-directed or if each took on a separate part.
In Yomutoshinu: Death Comic - Part 1, an urban legend states that the mysteries from a certain red-covered manga in manga cafe become reality. When Sayaka dies, her close friends Shizuka and Ryoko begin searching for the manga to uncover the truth.
In Yomutoshinu: Death Comic - Part 2, Shizuka and Ryoko continue their investigation of the mysterious red-covered manga. After discovering a corpse that has been meticulously sewn together with red thread, their search brings them ever-closer to the manga's original author.
Bikini-clad gravure photos after the break!
Starring:
I, for one, am suddenly intrigued. There were actually 6 more gravure idols involved with this project I could have posted photos of, but their portfolios were a bit too racy. Part 1 will get late show screenings at Theater N Shibuya from March 28 to April 3, 2009. Then Part 2 will take over from April 4 to April 10. Obviously we'll be on the lookout for a trailer.
