The official website for Shinsuke Sato’s GANTZ: Perfect Answer has been relaunched with a new teaser and full trailer.
This is the finale of the 2-part live-action film adaptation of Hiroya Oku’s popular manga about a mysterious sphere called GANTZ that grants the recently-deceased super powers and a second shot at life in exchange for a seemingly never-ending string of alien assassination missions.
The two main characters, Kurono (Kazunari Ninomiya) and Kato (Kenichi Matsuyama), were childhood friends who died in a train accident and were subsequently recruited by GANTZ to assassination various “seijin” (aliens). Kurono chooses to fight and do whatever it takes to survive, while Kato rejects violence. Trapped in an endless cycle of war, both men are eventually faced with an important choice…
Toho will be releasing GANTZ: Perfect in Japan on April 23, 2011.

Here’s the trailer for Atsushi Wada’s upcoming film Avatar. It was apparently posted on the film’s official website about 2 weeks ago.
Based on a novel by Yusuke Yamada (The Chasing World, Batsu Game), the film stars Ai Hashimoto (Confessions) as a second-year high school student named Michiko. Michiko’s father died in an accident, leaving her to live with her mother Kyoko (Mahiru Konno). Her mother gets her a cell phone on her birthday, and she is soon forcefully recruited into a social networking system called AvaQ by a classmate named Taeko (Rikako Sakata).
Michiko initially has very little interest in AvaQ, until one day when she wins the AvaQ “Best Dresser” prize and finds herself usurping Taeko’s title of “queen of the school”. Over time, Michiko’s personality changes drastically and she uses her newfound social status to get her revenge.
“Avatar” will be released by Uzumasa in Japan sometime in April 2011.

The official website for Ryuta Tasaki’s Kamen Rider × Kamen Rider OOO & W featuring Skull: Movie Taisen Core has been updated with a new 1-minute trailer.
The film is split into three parts. The first segment, Kamen Rider Skull: Message for Double, centers around Kamen Rider W. As Ryu Terui prepares to wed Akiko Narumi, the Pteranodon Yummy uses powers acquired from the Memory Memory and reveals the origin of Kamen Rider Skull to Shotaro (Renn Kiriyama) and Philip (Masaki Suda).
In the second segment, Kamen Rider OOO: Nobunaga’s Ambition, the Kougami Foundation creates a Cell Medal from the mummified remains of Oda Nobunaga. However, as Cell Medals are the manifestation of human desire, the new “homunculus” incarnation of Nobunaga is eventually consumed by the same ambition for conquest as his former self, and it’s up to Eiji Hino (Shu Watanabe) to rectify the situation.
In the third segment, Movie War Core, the entirely CG-animated Kamen Rider Core is created from the memories of all old Kamen Riders and wields the power of the Earth’s core itself in a battle against Double and OOO.
Toei will be releasing the film in Japan on December 18, 2010.
