Casting call for Noboru Iguchi’s “RoboGeisha”

I like to keep tabs on Noboru Iguchi’s blog, because if you’re really diligent (and I mean *really* diligent) you can find early info on new projects mixed in with the 7 million postings about various promotions for The Machine Girl and cell phone camera photos like this.

A few hours ago, Iguchi posted a casting call for the lead in his next movie, “RoboGeisha”. Usually I tend to wait for promotional images or a trailer before I bother mentioning most films, but in this case the title pretty much speaks for itself.

Recruiting females, ages 18-25 to appear in theatrical movie.

With previous works including “Kurushime-san”, “A Larva to Love”, “Manji”, “Cat-Eyed Boy”, and “The Machine Girl”, Noboru Iguchi has received great praise both at home and abroad. Now he’s recruiting an actress for the lead role in his next film, RoboGeisha (2009 release planned). After a successful acting debut, the door will likely be opened for future opportunities.

Qualifications: 18-25 years-old. Amateur actresses only (no talent office affiliation, please)
Requirements: Minors must have clearly-written parental consent. Include two photos: Full body and upper body, each taken within the past 3 months..
Deadline: Must receive applications by March 6, 2009.
Selection Process: Only applicants that pass the initial screening will be brought in for interviews.
After Selection: The applicant who passes the audition will star in the theatrical movie, RoboGeisha, as well as additional special contents.
Note: No expenses incurred while auditioning, such as travel and lodging, will be reimbursed.
