18-year-old model and actress Kaho (“A Gentle Breeze in the Village”, “Sing, Salmon, Sing!”) is set to star in Shochiku’s next animal-themed film, Kinako: Yume wo Oikakeru Inu (working English title: “Police Dog Dream”). On December 27th, she joined director Yoshinori Kobayashi and co-star Yasufumi Terawaki in Mitoyo to discuss the project with reporters.
Set in Kagawa prefecture and based on a true story, the film revolves around a 7-year-old female Labrador retriever named Kinako. Kaho plays Kinako’s trainer at a police dog training school in Murugame. Although Kinako has failed the police dog exam five times in a row, the pair continue working toward their goal without getting disheartened.
“Kinako: Yume wo Oikakeru Inu” is slated for release sometime next summer.
