Haru (left) and Miki Honoka (right)Miki Honoka (13), an exclusive model for teen fashion magazine Love Berry, will be co-starring with actress, pop singer, and Seventeen magazine model Haru (18) in an upcoming live-action film adaptation of Oyuki Konno’s series of light novels, Maria-sama ga Miteru (Maria Watches Over Us). 37 volumes of the novel have been published thus far; the film will consist of events from the first volume.

The story is set in a catholic school for girls called Lillian Academy where older students take an interest in mentoring younger girls. Specifically, they participate in a system in which they form a sisterly relationship by passing on their rosary to a specific girl with the promise of offering them guidance. Yumi Fukuzawa (Honoka) is an ordinary first-year student at Lillian who has a chance encounter with a dignified older girl named Sachiko Ogasawara (Haru) which eventually leads to her accepting Ogasawara’s rosary.

Filming of “Maria-sama ga Miteru” will begin in May with a release planned for sometime in the Fall.
