More violent schoolgirl action in Taishi Kaneko’s ‘Seifuku SurviGirl’ I and II

Seifuku SurviGirlIt’s spatter or be spattered in Taishi Kaneko‘s upcoming Seifuku SurviGirl I and II, yet-another schlockfest featuring fame-starved gravure idols utilizing katanas, guns, and chainsaws to protect themselves against the undead. It seems like this sort of thing has been done to death over the past two years, but I guess they wouldn’t keep going to the well if it didn’t have a built-in audience. Both movies will be screened this Saturday (12/6) at Tokyo’s Kineka Omori with some of the idols in attendance for stage greetings.

That title is a lot less clunky in Japanese, by the way. Seifuku means uniform (in this case, sailor outfits) and Survi (sabai) is one of those abbreviations of an English word (survival) you only see in Japan—usually in henshin stuff—presumably in this case because it’s a lot easier to say “sabaigaaru” than “sabaibarugaaru”.

Big ups to The Gomorrahizer for spotting the trailer and Quiet Earth for spreading the gospel. You can find it embedded after the break, along with cast info, production stills, and plot info.

Part 1

Plot: 17-year-old high school student Sakura Natsume goes to a theme park called “Survival Land” with six of her friends. As they understand it, they’re supposed to equip themselves with weapons and face off against cosplayers dressed as samurai, ninjas, and gunmen. They’re quite nervous at first being around these intiminating men, but since the game hasn’t yet started, they’re at no risk of being attacked. But all of a sudden, one of the men starts attacking another enemy player unexpectedly. Has the game started early? Soon the girls realize that not only are the weapons they’re using actually real, but a mysterious plant is infecting players—causing them to re-awaken as mindless zombies when they’re killed.

Part 2

Plot: Having somehow survived their ordeal at Survival Land days earlier, Sakura, Aoi (Miu Nakamura), and Kanna are taken to a hospital and put in isolation by the government. Aoi feels guilty for all the deaths that occurred because it was her idea to go in the first place, and becomes determined to put a stop to Survival Land once and for all, enlisting the help of her boyfriend Yuhei. Later, she sleeps with Yuhei without knowing he has contracted the zombie infection. Aoi wakes up the next morning with severe abdominal pain and vomiting. It’s clearly a sign of pregnancy, and the zombie baby inside her is growing at a rapid pace. Now the two of them desperately try to find a way to survive, knowing the mysterious plant from Survival Land might be the key to everything.

Any idea why it got Youtubed before any of the normal trailer sites got their hands on it? That’s always a mystery to me unless it’s something purely indie. Art Port isn’t exactly grassroots.

A winning formula that works wonders. I went straight to the trailer and spotted Miu Nakamura @ the 1:11 mark, and as far as I’m concerned, that’s enough to hook me.
Thanks for the info!

kevin, these things simply seem to appear on youtube way before official sites - well, a few days before, maybe - so it’s worth having other ways of keeping track of such things appearing…
