Teaser and full trailer for Masahiro Muramatsu’s ‘Slackers’

Here's another comedy about a bunch of yankees (bad boys) who are forced to join their school's previously defunct baseball team, conspicuously scheduled for release on the same day as Rookies: Graduation. Masahiro Muramatsu's Slackers is set at a seaside high school where two rival yankee groups are constantly battling for control of their turf. Childhood friends Tomu (Tokio Emoto) and Hiroshi (Ryu Morioka) had wanted to play baseball, but by the time they entered the school the team was already disbanded. With no other options, they eventually became useless slackers like everyone else.

Through an unexpected coincidence they're both suspected of smoking and faced with expulsion. Meanwhile, the principal is trying to get an Enka singer and alumnus named Saotome to make a new school song to improve their image. But Saotome was a star slugger when he attended the school 20 years ago, and refuses to make a song unless the baseball team is returned to its former glory. Desperate, the principal gives Hiroshi and Tomu a shot to avoid expulsion if they can pull off the impossible and turn a bunch of rival yankee slackers into a winning team.

The first teaser is just a lot of exaggerated yankee yelling for comedic effect. You may want to turn your speakers down:
