I make no secret of the fact that I’m a big fan of Takanori Tsujimoto‘s 45-minute action gore-fest, Hard Revenge, Milly. It’s not often that Japanese films get martial arts right, because they typically depend too much on special effects to make teen idols with no fighting experience look good. But Miki Mizuno is actually trained in Shorin Kempo and stunt combat and can mix it up with the best of them.
So imagine my glee when I discovered an even more over-the-top sequel titled Hard Revenge, Milly: Bloody Battle is currently in the works with a release planned for this summer. This time around, Milly ditches the retractable katana gauntlet for nunchuks that apparently have the power to make heads explode on contact and adds a cyborg arm to her existing shotgun limb and swiss army chest. Yoshihiro Nishimura (Tokyo Gore Police, The Machine Girl) is on gore duty. After the break you’ll find the plot summary and trailer.
Plot: After Milly eliminates the Jack Brothers to avenge her family, a beautiful girl named Haru (Nao Nagasawa) approaches her for help avenging her own boyfriend. Milly initially brushes her off, but eventually recognizes her passion for vengeance and agrees to train her.
Soon, an intense admirer of Jack's named Ikki (Kazuki Tsujimoto) and his brother Hyuma (Rei Fujita), arrive to take them on. Milly makes short work of their minions and neutralizes Hyuma, but the cyborg-armed Ikki manages to injure her severely. Will she be able to survive and help Haru exact vengeance?
