Following an accident, elementary school student Satoru Iwamoto is left temporarily confined to a wheelchair. Coupled with the recent loss of his mother his situation causes him to keep to himself in his room, unwilling to venture outside. In response to his son’s reclusive behavior Satoru’s father, Kaoru, designs a special robot which Satoru can control from home and sent to school in his place. In a dystopian future humanity has been forced underground. Settlements are stacked very deep, all of which are connected by transport elevators. One day a girl named Luchino hides in one of these elevators to escape the authorities when she is caught smoking. Unfortunately she does this at a time when a separate group of security forces are using the elevator to transport two extremely dangerous criminals. Suddenly an explosion cripples the elevator and the eclectic group of passengers which are now mixed in with two murderers are forced to fight for their survival in any way they can.

A young boy named Toru finds a mysterious egg on the beach out of which hatches a tiny flying turtle, which is in fact Gamera. His father doesn’t allow him to have pets so he chooses to hide it. Eventually a giant lizard called Zedus arrives, triggering Gamera’s hidden powers and the two monsters face off against one another.

In 1945 the nazis transport the heart of Frankenstein to Hiroshima right before it gets bombed by allied forces. Years later the heart has somehow transformed into a feral boy with regeneration and growth powers. When a monster called Baragon attacks the city Frankenstein is initially blamed for the destruction, but his name is cleared when he comes to the rescue and the two giant monsters clash in an epic battle.
