DVD release - Coach: 40-sai no Figure Skater (Shochiku) available on November 30, 1999

Japanese film company Shochiku will be releasing Kitaro Muro’s Coach: 40-sai no Figure Skater on region 2 DVD with English subtitles in Japan on February 24, 2011.

In a role largely inspired by her own life, figure skater Miwa Nishida plays a 40-year-old figure skating coach and professional ice show skater named Miwa Kurauchi. When Kurauchi begins taking care of the young daughter of an old boyfriend, she gets inspired to fulfill an old dream of making it to the olympic games.

Specs: Region 2, NTSC, anamorphic widescreen, DVD-9. Japanese audio with selectable English subtitles (main movie only). Features include making-of featurette and “MAP: Mirai no Chizu” music video.
