In Dragon Ball Z: Tree of Might, a deadly tree has the power to siphon off a planet’s life force until it’s completely dead. Goku and the Z Warriors can’t possibly destroy the tree itself so they confront the man who sent it, a Saiyan named Turles. Turles captures Gohan and pits son against father, delaying the inevitable fight with Goku. When Turles finally does face off against Goku, he attempts to make use of his tree.

In Dragon Ball Z: Lord Slug, Goku and Krillin manage to stop a giant asteroid from destroying Earth. However, that near-catastrophe was merely a warm-up for a the real threat: a banished ancient menace named Lord Slug who wants to create a new world for himself after seeking out the seven Dragon Balls and restoring his youth. Goku proves to be no match for this powerful and revitalized Namekian, so another must rise in his place before it’s too late.
