In Kinji Fukasaku‘s Fall Guy (Kamata Koshin Kyoku, 1981), Ginshiro is a famous actor who works mostly in samurai movies and spends more time mugging for the camera than actually putting any effort into his craft. When he discovers his girlfriend is pregnant he cons his number 1 fan and personal yes-man Yasu into marrying her in his place, fearing the news would ruin his already waning career. Yasu is not rich, so to support his new family he’s forced to work as a stunt man, constantly getting injured but content in the knowledge that he’s helping out his hero Ginshiro. Region 1, NTSC. Japanese audio with English subtitles.
