Gate of Flesh - Criterion

In Gate of Flesh (Nikutai no Mon, 1964), a group of five prostitutes operate a brothel out of an old bombed out building in post-war Japan. They’re strict about demanding money upfront for their services, but when a suave drifter (Jo Shishido) takes shelter in their building they each risk breaking this rule to win him over at the risk of being severely punished.
