Gunbuster vs Diebuster: The Gattai!!

Both “Gunbuster” movies in one set with a full disc of bonus features. Blu-ray region A, 3 discs. Comes with 8-page booklets for each film. In Hideaki Anno‘s debut anime movie, Gunbuster (Top wo Nerae!, 1988), a young girl named Noriko Takaya enrolls in a school for space pilots in an attempt to follow in her father’s footsteps, but soon finds herself in control of of a Gunbuster mech—and on the front lines of Earth’s war against gigantic rampaging aliens. In Diebuster (Top wo Nerae 2!, 2004), the sequel to Hideaki Anno’s “Gunbuster”, a country girl named Nono dreams of becoming a space pilot. She joins an elite force called “Fraternity”, in which specially-trained teenagers utilize mech suits called “Buster Machines” to combat space aliens and protect the solar system from invasion. However, after battling swarms of attackers the empire eventually realizes that they haven’t been fighting real space aliens at all—only first generation Buster Machines that used to protect Earth.
