His mission is sponsored by samurai in Edo, and he stands to collect a 100 ryo reward for successfully exacting his vengeance. However, Soza is soon confronted by his own ineptitude with a blade and the harsh reality of perpetuating a seemingly endless string of hate and revenge when there may be a less harmful alternative.
