DVD release - Happily Ever After (Viz Pictures) available on May 12, 2009

US distributor Viz Pictures will be releasing Yukihiko Tsutsumi's Happily Ever After (Jigyaku no Uta, 2007) on region 1 DVD in May 2009.

Plot: Yukie Morita (Miki Nakatani) works hard at a noodle shop, while her good-for-nothing live-in boyfriend Isao (Hiroshi Abe) spends his time gambling away all their money. He's also got quite a short temper, and whenever she does something he doesn't like the dinner table is likely to get flipped along with the meals she cooks for him. Everyone around Yukie pleads with her to leave him, but she insists she's head-over-heels in love. After all, it was Isao's unconditional love that saved her from her own misery.

Specs: Region 1, NTSC, 16:9 anamorphic widescreen, DVD-9 (9,800 Mbps). Japanese Dolby 5.1 and stereo audio tracks with selectable English subtitles. Disc includes trailers. Also includes inserts with cultural notes related to the film.
