In Heaven Can Wait. Maybe... (Tengoku wa Matte Kureru, 2007), close friends Hiroki (Yoshihiko Inohara), Takeshi (Shunsuke Kiyokiba), and Kaoru (Aya Okamoto) have been almost inseparable since their childhood. However, their 3-way friendship gets thrown a curveball when Takeshi confesses his love for Kaoru. Hiroki and Kaoru have trouble figuring out exactly what this means for their group dynamic. A few days later, Takeshi gets severely injured in an accident and is hospitalized in a coma with little chance to come out of it. Hiroku and Kaoru watch over their friend, and he eventually does wake up, but unfortunately he’s left with only 30 days to live.
