Japanese distributor Gaga Communications will be releasing Isao Yukisada’s Into the Faraway Sky (Toku no Sora ni Kieta, 2007) on region 2 DVD with English subtitles on March 7th.
Plot: A government official (Tomokazu Miura) moves to a small town with his son Ryonosuke (Ryonosuke Kamiki) to oversee the area’s airport construction project. Many of the locals disapprove of the construction, making things kind of awkward for the two of them. Ryonosuke meets another boy named Kohei (Yuma Sasano) who introduces him to some of the locals, including Hiharu (Suzuka Ohgo), a girl with an odd fascination with UFOs. Meanwhile, Kohei’s dad (Fumiyo Kohinata) returns home from a trip just in time to protest the airport construction project.
