In Kairo, aka “Pulse”, ghosts of the dead are able to invade the world of the living through modern-day technology. Once contact is made with a living person, they become extremely depressed and lonely, causing to them vanish and leave only a black stain behind. As this affliction reaches more people the condition spreads across Tokyo like a virus.
