US distributor Funimation will be releasing Yoichi Sai's 2009 film Kamui Gaiden, a live-action adaptation of Sanpei Shirato’s classic manga series "Kamui: The Lone Ninja", on DVD and Blu-ray in December. Plot: Born into a ninja clan, Kamui (Kenichi Matsuyama) is expected to live and die as a ninja. However, he desperately longs for freedom and risks his life to escape. Now under constant threat from assassins sent from his former clan, Kamui has no choice but to spend his life on the run. trusting no one and forming no friendships. However, this changes when he meets a fisherman named Hanbei (Kaoru Kobayashi) and his family. Specs: Blu-ray region A. Japanese and English-dubbed audio tracks with selectable English subtitles.
