DVD release - Life: Tears in Heaven (Universe) available on February 27, 2009

Hong Kong distributor Universe will be releasing Takehiko Shinjo's Life: Tears in Heaven (Life Tengoku de Kimi ni Aetara, 2007) on region 3 DVD with English subtitles on February 27th.

The film is a tearjerker about the life of Natsuki Iijima, Japan’s most famous pro windsurfer who died of cancer in 2005 at the age of 38. Iijima wrote a memoir about the end of his life which was eventually published as a novel and went on to sell 220,000 copies in Japan. Actor Takao Osawa plays Iijima in the film adaptation of the book, portraying how the windsurfer dealt with his diagnosis and how he was supported by his wife Hiroko (Misako Ito).

This is a Hong Kong DVD release. Region 3, NTSC. Japanese Dolby 5.1 audio with selectable English, simplified Chinese, and traditional Chinese subtitles.
