In The Stairway to the Distant Past (Harukana Jidai no Kaidan o, 1995), Mike Hama has fallen on hard times. His convertible has been repossessed and he’s been reduced to riding around on a used motorcycle. In The Trap (Wana, 1996), Mike Hama is finally making it big in the detective biz. Financially well off and up to his neck in new clientele, things seem to be looking up. However, when he receives a strange request from a hooded character, “I want you to look for me”.
