In The Most Terrible Time in my Life (Waga Jinsei Saiaku no Toki, 1994), Yokohama Detective Maiku “Mike” Hama (Masatoshi Nagase) comes to the aid of a Taiwanese waiter at a local mahjong parlor and unknowingly gets himself involved in an intense gang war. [Watch trailer]

In The Stairway to the Distant Past (Harukana Jidai no Kaidan o, 1995), Mike Hama has fallen on hard times. His convertible has been repossessed and he’s been reduced to riding around on a used motorcycle. He eventually meets up with an old acquaintance, a stripper named Lilly, who turns out to be an important link to his past. [Watch trailer]

In The Trap (Wana, 1996), Mike Hama is finally making it big in the detective biz. Financially well off and up to his neck in new clientele, things seem to be looking up. However, when he receives a strange request from a hooded character, “I want you to look for me”.
