Earlier today international entertainment company Well Go USA announced plans to release Kengo Kaji’s Samurai Princess on DVD in the US.
The film is set in an alternate universe in which feudal Japan is populated by both humans and mechanical dolls. When these dolls begin slaughtering the human population, a mad scientist named Kyoraku creates a female ninja version (played by adult video idol Aino Kishi) with 11 types of built-in weapons. Teamed up with a human companion (Dai Mizuno), the nearly indestructible android puts these weapons to use against the other dolls to save humanity.
Region 1, NTSC, 16:9 anamorphic widescreen, DVD-9 (8.9 Mbps interlaced), 85 min. Original Japanese and English-dubbed Dolby 5.1 audio tracks with selectable English subtitles. Features include theatrical trailer, stills gallery, and making-of featurette.
