The series, created by Robert Houston, is a completely re-imagined version of the Japanese “Lone Wolf and Cub” film series featuring a new story and alternate dialogue dubbed with English-speaking actors. Shogun Assassin was created using footage from both “Lone Wolf and Cub: Sword Of Vengeance” and “Lone Wolf and Cub: Baby Cart at the River Styx”. Lone Wolf, a masterless samurai, refuses to swear his allegience to the cruel Shogun, Kurando. Because of this, his wife Azame is murdered by Kurando’s minions. Lone Wolf swears to avenge her, and takes his young son, Tizuro, on his journey of retribution against the Shogun and his sons. [Watch trailer]
Shogun Assassin 2: Lightning Swords of Death was created using footage from “Lone Wolf and Cub: Baby Cart to Hades”. Lone Wolf rescues a girl who killed a pimp in self defense. His samurai code forces him to endure excruciating torture because of his actions, but his torturers are very impressed and decide to hire him to assassinate a corrupt governor.
Shogun Assassin 3: Slashing Blades of Carnage was created using footage of “Lone Wolf and Cub: Baby Cart in Peril”. Lone Wolf is hired to kill a tattooed female assassin. Meanwhile, an old enemy of his, Gunbei Yagyu, finds his son and seizes the opportunity to get revenge. Now Lone Wolf will have to carve his way through a horde of warriors to face off against his foe.
Shogun Assassin 4: Five Fistfuls of Gold was created using footage of “Lone Wolf and Cub: Baby Cart in the Land of Demons”. Lone Wolf faces off against 5 separate warriors, each with separate piece of information he needs for his next assignment. He dispatches them in such a way that he’s able to extract their clues before silencing them for good. His next target is a Daimyo, and it’s a mission that’s actually sponsored by the man’s own clan.
Shogun Assassin 5:Cold Road to Hell was created using footage of “Lone Wolf and Cub: White Heaven in Hell”. Outnumbered 5,000 to 1, Lone Wolf finally gets in a bit more trouble than he can handle. Not only that, but a sorcerer has sent a band of unkillable undead assassins to put a stop to him once and for all.
