DVD release - Still Walking (Bandai Visual) available on January 23, 2009

Japanese distributor Bandai Visual will be releasing Hirokazu Kore-eda's Still Walking (Aruitemo Aruitemo, 2008) on R2-J DVD with English subtitles in January.

Plot: Ryota Yokoyama (Hiroshi Abe) is a 40-something art restorer and former medic who returns home with his new wife Yukari (Yui Natsukawa) to commemorate the 15th anniversary of his brother's drowning death. As far as Ryota is concerned, he will never live up to the memory of his dead brother in the eyes of his father (Yoshio Harada) and both men would just as soon try to avoid each other as much as possible during this reunion.

Meanwhile, his aging mother (Kirin Kiki) takes a more passive-aggressive approach, combining acts of motherly kindness with stinging remarks for each family member throughout the day.

Specs: Region 2, NTSC, 16:9 Vista. Japanese audio with selectable English and Japanese subtitles. Features include making-of featurette and trailers.
