US distributor Tokyo Shock is releasing “Sukeban Deka: The Movie” and “Sukeban Deka: The Movie 2 - Counter-Attack of the Kazama Sisters” together as the “Sukeban Deka Pack”. You probably know the drill by now—delinquent teenage girls are recruited into a special police unit in order to investigate juvenile crimes more effectively. They usually end up getting themselves into major jams, which they invariably fight their way out of with the help of a deadly bladed yo-yo.
In Sukeban Deka: The Movie (1987), a school is taken over by a political revolutionary who attempt to turn its students into terrorists. Saki Asamiya is enlisted to infiltrate the school undercover and get things back under control by any means necessary. [Watch trailer]
In Sukeban Deka: The Movie 2 - Counter-Attack of the Kazama Sisters (Sukeban Deka: Kazama San-shimai no Gyakushu, 1988), politician Kuraudo Sekin’s measures for fighting juvenile crime become too harsh, causing Yui Kazama to quit the bureau and refuse to participate in any undercover missions for them. Soon it becomes clear that Sekin’s actual goal is to take over the Japanese government, and only the Kazama sisters can stop him. [Watch trailer]
