yes! Hiroshi Abe! Poor guy gets mistaken for Susumu Terajima all the time. I was relieved to see them both in the same scene during Aruitemo Aruitemo just so fans could finally see the physical comparison (Abe is much taller) and acknowledge that they are two completely different actors. i love 'em both! lookin' forward to this film.

Every time I see Hiroshi Abe I think of his Looney Tune magician in Survive Style 5. Viva friends!

Haha how sad. Abe is a former model and Terajima is... erm, not. But yeah, he towers over most other actors in everything he's in. I have Aruitemo Aruitemo on order actually. It's the last of the big critical successes from 2008 I haven't seen yet.

Aruitemo is my favorite film i've seen in 2009 so far, followed by This World Of Ours. Funuke Show Some Love comes in third, and Departures is definitely up there in the top 10. Ozu must have possessed Kore-eada's soul during the filming of Still Walking. There's no other explanation for this gift of a film.
