This DVD set from Tokyo Shock features the movies “Japanese Hell”, “Cursed”, and “Samurai Chicks” packaged together at a discounted price. Region 1, NTSC. Japanese audio with English subtitles.

In Cursed (Cho Kowai Hanashi A: Yami no Curse, 2004), a teenage girl named Nao (Hiroko Sato) and a corporate representative named Ryoko (Kyoko Akiba) are terrorized by a series of horrifying, unexplainable events at their 24-hour convenience store. Bloody crows smash against the window and people are seemingly going insane for no reason. Totally unaware of the malice-fueled curse surrounding the store, the girls decide they have to do something. For the individual DVD release of “Cursed”, see this link.

In Japanese Hell (Jigoku, 1999) a young girl who gets involved in the cult responsible for the sarin gas attack on Japan’s subway system finds herself on the brink of eternal damnation in Hell. In an attempt to force repentance, the Queen of Hell forces her to witness all of the torment such a sentence would entail.

In Samurai Chicks (Dokuritsu Shojo Gurentai, 2004) “Orion Dancers Academy” acts as a front for training young female warriors capable of winning independence for the southern island it resides on. The girls get their mission details in the form of secret code held in pop idol Cocoe’s dancing transmitted via large screen TV. However, a rival organization is planning a preemptive strike against them.
