In Violent Cop (Sono Otoko, Kyobo ni Tsuki, 1989), Detective Azuma (Takeshi Kitano) is a no-nonsense cop who routinely uses extremely violent methods to dole out his own brand of justice. He uncovers a police cover-up of crimes committed by one specific gang of drug-runners, including the murder of fellow cop Iwake (Sei Hiraizumi) and the kidnapping of his sister. Azuma soon sets out on a path of rage-fueled destruction in an attempt to avenge Iwake and rescue his sister before it’s too late.
