DVD release - Zatoichi (Tokyo Shock) available on February 24, 2004

Unofficially referenced as “Zatoichi 26” even though there was a 16-year gap between this film and the 25th. It was also the final time the role was played by Shintaro Katsu, who died 8 years later. The story for this addition goes much like the previous films, with Zatoichi getting mixed up in a turf war between two yakuza families while trying to defend the poor and expose a corrupt town official.
