28 1/2: Mōsō no Kyojin (2010)

28 1/2: Mōsō no Kyojin is a Japanese movie written and directed by Mamoru Oshii. It was released by Deiz in Japan on July 31, 2010.

The film is a dramatized documentary about the making of Oshii’s “Tetsujin 28-go” stage play. The two works were released as a DVD set together on September 15, 2010.

Erika Okuda stars as a still photographer named Akiko. She sees a boy who reminds her of Shotaro, the protagonist of Tetsujin 28-go. The focus then turns to Oshii’s struggles directing the play before he suddenly vanishes.
