A Gentle Breeze in the Village (2007)

A Gentle Breeze in the Village is a Japanese movie directed by Nobuhiro Yamashita and based on a manga by Fusako Kuramochi. It was released by Asmik Ace Entertainment in Japan on August 4, 2007.

Kaho stars as Soyo, a girl from a rural village in a western Japan with only one combined classroom for all grades. When a boy from Tokyo named Hiromi Osawa (Masaki Okada) arrives, he’s immediately seen as the coolest kid in their school by default.  Soyo is turned off by his attitude at first, but eventually comes around.

They end up going on a field trip to Tokyo together and she experiences big city life for the first time, only to realize she prefers her quiet little town after all. The experience brings the two closer together and they even share a kiss. Now he must decide if he wants to go to high school in Tokyo or stay with his new friends out in the middle of nowhere.
