Akira Emoto is a Japanese actor. He was born on November 3, 1948 in Chuo, Tokyo.
Emoto has won numerous awards for acting during his career, including a Japanese Academy Award for Best Actor in 1999 for Dr. Akagi and another for Best Supporting Actor in 2011 for his performance in Villain.
His wife is actress Kazue Tsunogae. Their sons are actors Tokio and Tasuku Emoto.
His nickname is Emocchan (えもっちゃん).
