Arakawa Under the Bridge is a Japanese movie directed by Ken Iizuka and based on a manga by Hikaru Nakamura. It was released by Sony Pictures in Japan on February 4, 2012.
Kento Hayashi stars as Kou Ichinomiya, the son of an ultra wealthy company owner who always taught him his number one priority was never to be indebted to anyone under any circumstances.
One day, his father gives him the task of clearing out some strange squatters from the banks of the Arakawa. On his way there, Kou almost drowns but is rescued by a beautiful blond girl named Nino (Mirei Kiritani), who claims to a “Venusian”.
Because Nino saved him, Kou feels as though he’s now in her debt—something which drives him crazy. Desperate to pay her back, he offers to give her anything she wants. Her only request is that he help her fall in love. With no other choice, he’s forced to stay with her and her bizarre friends until he fulfills his promise.
