Boku to Mama no Kiiroi Jitensha (2009)

Boku to Mama no Kiiroi Jitensha is a Japanese movie directed by Keita Kono. It’s an adaptation of the popular 2005 novel, “Boku no Yuku Michi” by Fuyuki Shindo. It was released by T-Joy on August 22, 2009.

Akashi Takei stars as Taishi, a third-grader who is waiting for a letter from his mother Kotomi (Kyoka Suzuki), who he believes to be overseas studying in Paris. However, when he discovers the truth, that she’s actually in Japan on Shodo Island, he takes the yellow bicycle she gave him and begins the long journey to find her, bringing his pet dog along for the ride.
