Confessions of a Dog is a Japanese movie written and directed by Gen Takahashi. It premiered at the Yubari International Fantastic Film Festival on February 26, 2006 and was screened at various international film festivals before finally being released by Argo Pictures in Japan on January 24, 2009.
The film depicts vast corruption within the higher ranks of Japanese law enforcement. When honest father and police officer Takeda (Shun Sugata) is promoted to detective, he is quickly exposed to the dealings of crooked cops—including blackmail, illegal dealings, and widespread corruption.
Meanwhile, an investigator named Kusama (Junichi Kawamoto) uncovers information about this corruption, but is conflicted about whether he should make the risky choice of exposing it to the public.
