Death Kappa is a Japanese movie directed by Tomoo Haraguchi. It premiered at the New York Asian Film Festival on June 25, 2010.
In the film, a militant group of researchers attempt to breed a “kappa”—a typically harmless water creature from Japanese folklore—as an amphibious super-soldier. However, their dangerous experiments cause a nuclear disaster which leads to a giant mutant monster attacking Japan. Soon, a giant irradiated kappa appears and begins fighting the beast, causing massive destruction throughout Tokyo.
