A Man on the Verge at a Black Company is a Japanese movie directed by Yuichi Sato. It’s based on a popular forum thread on the Japanese internet forum 2chan which was later turned into a novel. The film was released by Asmik Ace Entertainment on November 21, 2009.

Teppei Koike stars as an internet-addicted hikikomori named Masao who finally finds employment at an IT company when his mother dies and he loses his only source of support.

Unfortunately, he soon discovers how oppressive the work conditions can be at certain companies that push their workers beyond reasonable limits for the sake of profit.

Surrounded by bizarre, pushy co-workers, Masao feels like he’s about to reach his breaking point…
