God’s Left Hand, Devil’s Right Hand is a Japanese horror movie directed by Shusuke Kaneko and based on a Kazuo Umezu manga. It premiered at the Fantasia Film Festival on July 14, 2006 and was released domestically by Toshiba Entertainment on July 22, 2006.
The film was originally supposed to be directed by Hiroyuki Nasu, but he unfortunately died before getting the chance. Kaneko, seeing Nasu as a mentor when they both worked at Nikkatsu studio 25 years earlier, decided it was his responsibility to take over the project to honor his memory.
Tomorowo Taguchi plays an amateur illustrator who commits a series of horrific murders, and these acts are detected a young boy named So (Tsubasa Kobayashi) who has a powerful sixth sense. One night, So has such a powerful dream involving one of the man’s murders, he sustains wounds on his neck similar to that of the victim’s and must be hospitalized.
His sister Izumi (Asuka Shibuya) must now investigate the situation to save her young brother from any further psychic trauma, partnering with Yoshiko (Ai Maeda) to track down the murdered girls. Unfortunately, their investigation will lead them right into the clutches of the insane killer.
