Halfway is a Japanese movie written and directed by TV screenwriter Eriko Kitagawa. It marked her directorial debut and was produced by indie filmmaker Shunji Iwai.
Set in Hokkaido, the film stars Kie Kitano as a high school student named Hiro who’s distraught over the idea of her boyfriend Shu (Masaki Okada) moving away to attend college in Tokyo because she isn’t willing to move herself.
