Haze (2005)

Haze is a Japanese movie written and directed by Shinya Tsukamoto. It premiered at the New York Film Festival on October 1, 2005 and got a limited released by Gold View Company in Japan on March 4, 2005.

The film stars Tsukamoto as a man trapped in a dark, closed-in space with no idea how he got there and seemingly no way to escape. A stab wound in his abdomen causes him to repeatedly pass out, each time waking up in a new area of his concrete prison.

Eventually, he meets a woman (Kaori Fujii) who’s surrounded by dismembered body parts. The two confused prisoners have a discussion and try to figure out which events from their lives led them to this horrible place.
