Higanjima is a Japanese-Korean co-produced horror movie directed by Tae-gyun Kim. It’s based on a Koji Matsumoto manga which was originally serialized in Young Magazine. It will premiere at the 14th annual Pusan International Film Festival on October 9th, 2009 and opens publicly in Japan in January of 2010 courtesy of distributor Warner Bros.
The film stars Hideo Ishiguro as a teenager named Akira who travels to a vampire-infested island with a group of friends to find his missing brother.
