Homecoming is an Japanese movie directed by Toshiro Iijima. It was released by Klockworx in Japan on March 12, 2011.
In his very first starring film role, 63-year-old comedian, actor, and television personality Junji Takada plays a recently retired businessman named Tokita who’s spent the majority of his life completely consumed with his job.
Following his retirement celebration, he’s excited to return to his hometown with his wife and settle down. However, he soon discovers that his formerly ideal town—which was once the setting of a famous television drama—is now home to a sleepy population averaging 68-years-old.
In order to combat this, Tokita gathers a committee of locals and old friends in an attempt to plan a town revitalization festival.
