Koichi Sakamoto

Koichi Sakamoto is a Japanese action coordinator, stunt actor, and film director. He was born on September 29, 1970 in Tokyo.

Sakamoto grew up admiting Jackie Chan, and was introduced to actor Yasuaki Kurata’s “Kurata Action Club” in high school. In 1989, after graduating from high school, he moved to America to study English at a foreign language school and then transferred to the University of Southern California. He then joined the Screen Actors Guild to began acting in small action roles while his new company, Alpha Stunts, got off the ground. His work with Alpha eventually led to the opportunity to direct and produce Power Rangers, the popular US adaptation of Japan’s Super Sentai Series.
