Slapstick Brothers is a Japanese movie written and directed by comedian Hiroshi Shinagawa. It was released by Kadokawa Pictures on March 19, 2011.
Ryuta Sato plays a manzai comic named Tobio who’s been consistently unsuccessful over the span of his 10-year career. Out of frustration, he gets incredibly drunk and winds up landing in jail cell where he meets a tough delinquent named Ryuhei (Yusuke Kamiji).
Tobio recognizes Ryuhei’s demeanor would make him the perfect tsukkomi (straight man) of a manzai comedy duo and convinces him to become his partner. Things go well at first, until Ryuhei is attacked and Tobio is kidnapped…
