Maria Watches Over Us (2010)

Maria Watches Over Us is a live-action Japanese movie directed by Kotaro Terauchi and based on a light novel by Oyuki Konno which was later turned into an anime series. It was released by Jolly Roger in Japan on November 6, 2010.

The film is set at the all-girls Lillian Academy, which has a long-held tradition of pairing up “soeurs” (sisters) consisting of an upperclassman who teaches an underclassman the finer points of being a respectable lady of grace and charm.

First-year student Yumi (Honoka Miki) is selected by the graceful and widely admired second-year student Sachiko (Haru), beginning a relationship that will have a positive effect on both their lives.
