Mother Water (2010)

Mother Water is a Japanese movie directed by Kana Matsumoto and staffed by the same project team that worked on the similarly themed films Kamome Diner, Megane, and Pool. It was released in Japan on October 30, 2010.

The film is set in Kyoto, where Setsuko (Satomi Kobayashi) runs a whiskey bar, Hatsumi (Mikako Ichikawa) makes and sells tofu, and Takako (Kyoko Koizumi) manages a cofee shop.

Through their businesses, which are all heavily dependent on water, their daily lives become intertwined with four other locals.
