Negative Happy Chainsaw Edge (2007)

Negative Happy Chainsaw Edge is a Japanese movie based on a novel by Tatsuhiko Takimoto and directed by Takuji Kitamura. It premiered at the Tokyo International Film Festival on October 25, 2007 and was released publicly by Nikkatsu on January 18, 2008.

The film stars Hayato Ichihara as Yosuke, a young man who’s been having trouble getting over the death of his best friend and rival in all daredevil activities, Noto (Haruma Miura).

One day, he meets a beautiful girl named Eri (Megumi Seki) and discovers she does battle with a mysterious chainsaw-wielding maniac every night.

Yosuke decides he can finally live up to Nota’s memory if he joins these epic battles. Meanwhile, Eri comes to lean on him for emotional support.
